SHMAIS.COM EXCLUSIVE: SHLIACH MEETS WITH PRESIDENT BUSH IN MANHATTAN
SHMAIS.com has learned that Rabbi Yehuda Leib Kantor, director of Chabad of Westport, CT recently met with President George W. Bush. The meeting took place at a Republican National Committee Luncheon in Manhattan to which Rabbi Kantor was invited to attend.
When it was Rabbi Kantor's turn to meet the President he recited the special Brocha that one makes when seeing Kings and rulers. The President responded, "Can you translate that for me please". The President then began saying "Blessed are you L-rd our G-d" and then he stopped. Rabbi Kantor then proceeded to translate the rest of the Brocha for the President. The President was touched and thanked him. Rabbi Kantor then told the President that he was going to be visiting Israel with a group from his community. He thanked the President for all his support and asked that he continue supporting Israel. The President responded that he would continue to support Israel.
